X5 Headphone port problem - needs fix

The X5 seems to have a feature where when the headphone jack is inserted into the port, there is about a one second delay before it "powers on", after which you can hear a subtle "pop", and then the music can be heard. Likewise if you remove the headphones you will hear the same "pop".

My problem seems to be that there is something faulty with the headphone port. While this problem may have been very subtle the first few months of my usage, it has gotten worse to the point of making usage of the X5 unenjoyable. What happens is that slight shifting or movement of the headphone jack while it is in the port triggers this "pop" sound and the music to stop playing.
